I started in March 2022 in the newly refurbished offices. I graduated at the start of the pandemic from Lancaster University after studying Business Analytics and Consultancy, then worked for a year as a Logistics and Supply Chain Administrator at a large chemical company. In my role today I’m a Sustainability Administrator, a newly introduced role to the business and new to me.
My day to day job is to maintain and validate product and packaging material information using the Supplier Material Footprint Portal. I validate and analyse the information provided by suppliers to understand their current product and share opportunities on how to make them more sustainable. In addition I get involved in sustainability projects and interacting with IT & IS Development Teams to make sure our Supplier Portal is developed and evolves in line with the requirements of DEFRA and other Sustainability standards in order for it to be as user friendly as possible.
I’ve been at Bunzl Retail Supplies for just over a year as a Sustainability Administrator in Procurement. I’m part of the wider Procurement Team and as I’m new I haven’t worked in other departments.
I really enjoy working with the people! Bunzl is a place full of friendly faces with everyone willing to help out, and if they can’t they’ll know someone who will be able to solve all of your challenges. On top of that there’s lots of social events that happen throughout the year organised by our MAGIC Team. I also have to mention the opportunities to learn; Bunzl is a unique business in the way that it operates. Departments are in close proximity so learning something new is just a few steps away and it doesn’t stop there. There’s been tons of fascinating initiatives from “Walk A Mile In My Shoes” where we were taken through the day to day of each team, and “Back To The Floor” where we toured the warehouse with our Operations colleagues and got to see under the bonnet of Bunzl Retail Supplies.
