I joined Bunzl Retail Supplies straight after my final year of University in 2000. Initially I worked as a temp after completing my degree in Economic and Social History.
Today I’m the Operations Director for Bunzl Retail Supplies. My role is about supporting my team to ensure they deliver a great service for our customers on a daily basis, whilst also focusing on the future and how we can maintain or improve what we do on an annual ongoing basis operationally and logistically.
At Bunzl Retail Supplies I have spent my time in the operations and supply chain functions. Valuable in understanding how the business functions overall. I’ve worked with most departments and customers in my time here. The roles I have fulfilled are; Goods In Administrator, Supply Chain Planner, Goods In and Inventory Manager, Project Manager (Secondment), Senior Inbound Manager, Head of Inbound Supply Chain, Head of Operations and Operations Director; so lots of roles on the way to my current role in the Leadership Team – one which I’m immensely proud of and I hope is a good example for anyone thinking of joining that anything is possible!
The key thing for me at Bunzl Retail Supplies has always been the people and the constant challenge, with no day being the same. The culture is great, and development opportunities and training courses have always been available to me.
