I joined Bunzl Retail Supplies in August 2015. Prior to joining Bunzl Retail Supplies, I was running my own Spanish tapas and cocktail bar and before that had been developing a pet perfume product as new innovation. It’s safe to say that GNFR is a little bit different but no less exciting!
My role today is Account Director. As an Account Director within Bunzl Retail Supplies no two days are the same. My primary role is to support our retail customers, not only on a day-to-day collaborative basis but by developing longer-term strategic partnerships alongside our multi-functional teams, to maximise the value created through consolidation and maintain a high-level of customer experience. My team act as translators, interpreting the needs of our customers, communicating with our wider business in order to create a viable and scalable solution, which our teams are able to deliver in order to meet the needs of our customer sustainably, ensuring any change to their business is planned, communicated and sustained. As a consolidator our goal is to take the complexity out of Goods Not For Resale (GNFR), allowing our customers to focus on their consumers’ needs by us delivering the right product, at the right place at the right time.
I started as an Account Support Coordinator supporting a national convenience customer, then progressed to Account Executive on a large Pharmacy customer before becoming an Account Manager for a Department Store Customer and a Senior Account Manager on a large Supermarket customer. All my roles have been in the Sales Team but with a large amount of interaction with every other team.
Whilst this may sound a little cliché, my favourite part of Bunzl Retail Supplies has to be our people which make it such a special place to work. We’re a diverse group, spread now across multiple locations, yet it still feels like an extended work family. We embrace each other for who we are and what we bring to the mix, celebrating our differences and working together to achieve our common goal of delivering for our customers. I have seen so many company visons and values over the years but have never experienced a business which truly embraces their culture to such an extent.
